La Sophisti-Pop est un genre musical créé en Angleterre en avril 1982 à Londres par le groupe CULTURE CLUB et leur premier single, “White boy”.

. La Techno-Soul : Dès 1982, le chanteur britannique PAUL YOUNG (ex-Q-TIPS) propose une Sophisti-pop avec un aspect musical inspiré de la Techno-pop et vocal tirant plus sur la Soul. Souvent proche de la Blue-eyed Soul.
